It has been years since I have been on! Lot's of fun stuff going on, lots to think about!!
1. I moved! Into my own apartment! and learned how to chalk paint!! and I also learned that I am fabulous at decorating :) Coolest experience ever! If anybody has a chance to live alone for a while, absolutely do it!!
2. I am about a week away from finals, and a semester away from applying to nursing school!! Which is basically the scariest thought in the world!! There are so many emotions surrounding it! Motivation, self-doubt, more motivation, nervous, excited.
3. It's finally warm out!! Hello sandals and sundresses!!! FINALLY! my favorite time of year! Time to put away the boots and pants!! Glorious!!
4. I have been thinking of selling mark cosmetics! has anybody ever tried them?? I thought it would be a fun way to make some money and stay in style!!
5. I have found my perfect summer theme song! It's called Cruise, and it's by a band called Florida Georgia Line!! Can't stop playing it!! Everybody needs to go check this one out!!
My birthday is coming up this weekend!! The big 21!!! I am supposed to be working and studying hard, but all I can seem to think about is how badly I want to mix some drinks, and have a day off!! Does anybody have some fun drink ideas I can try?? I will share if I find some!!
Have a fabulous rest of the week everyone!!! Almost the weekend!!

Burst of Inspiration
I have had quite the week! Between family and work and school and everything else going on, but I am FINALLY on break! And I am going to Phoenix! Where it is warmer, shopping is fabulous, and most of all, they have baseball!! My three favorite things in one place! Anyway, I had several inspirational things happen and I felt the need to share!
First of all, I know I say the small things in life can make all the difference, but they really can. Today, I was about to leave work and I had a patient come in with the most amazing story. For confidentiality reasons, I obviously can't tell the whole story, BUT I will tell some! This woman was the happiest, sweetest, most amazing woman I have come across at work yet. She has a 14 year old daughter who is sick and possibly dying from renal complications. I didn't get to meet her daughter, but this woman was the most positive woman I have ever met in my life! It was amazing for me to see all she was going through, and she still had time to give back to others. She and her five homeschooled kids go every week to visit hospice homes and visit elderly people who are dying, while one of her own children is extremely sick!
After an hour of talking to her, I had this realization and affirmation that nursing is really what I am meant to do in life. I love people. I love knowing that I can help people, even if it is just by making them smile. This woman's story, for some reason hit me really hard and I knew immediately that pediatric nursing is what I need to stick to. I have been questioning it so much lately, but I feel like God stepped in and said, "Marybeth, I know it is hard, but you need to keep going. Go to school, get your degree, and help children like this one." It was a little, small chat we had, but she opened up to me so much, and made me feel good, like I was headed in the right direction.
And especially after all she was going through, her positivity really struck me. If she can be this happy with a daughter as sick as hers, I can surely shake off all the little things going on in my life and move on.
Anyway, just thought I would share this little bit of inspiration with everyone! It really got me thinking about what is important in life and what really is not at all important. I hope someone found this half as inspiring as i did! God Bless!!

Walking To The Beat
If you know me, you know that I have a passion for country music. Everything about it just calls to me. It tells a story. Sometimes it feels like whoever wrote this song wrote it about me. ya know that feeling? The one of oh s*** somebody is watching me, because this song is about my life. Yeah, I have many of those moments.
I was born in the complete wrong part of the country. I should have been born in Texas, or Alabama, or North Carolina. Anywhere but little ol Albuquerque, New Mexico! Don't get me wrong, I love everything about this place, I just don't fit in as well.
Anyway, I am really into non mainstream stuff and I recently discovered Chase Rice, Florida Georgia Line, and Outshyne. Now that I have told you this information, you should all go to itunes and download it all immediately (after you read this of course). They are just good. And I may be a little obsessed, but still, it's worth a listen.
I like this stuff, but i am a cowboy boot wearing, sweet tea drinking, two stepping, small town girl at heart, and i love this kind of stuff. And I just thought I needed to share with everybody!
Country music is in my soul. It is what I love. It just gets me. It knows when I am happy or sad or angry or hurting. It knows when I need a reminder that God is with me, it just gets me. It is what I wake up to in the morning, and fall asleep to at night. I desperately wish I had an ounce of talent in my bones so I could do it for a living, but I don't. So I will stick with nursing for now.
I am a simple person, what can I say. All I need is some good music, a good book, my puppies, and I am good. This is what makes me happy. And I felt a need to share! Now go download so music!!

A Day In The Life
My days as a working college student start at 8 every single morning and do not end until 1 the next morning. I am a student, employee, sister, daughter, cousin, niece, granddaughter, friend, and about a million other things to a million other people. I have been blessed with an amazing support system in my family and friends. I split my time between work at the hospital, school, home, and an occasional gym run (which need to be a little more frequent)! So if I am so busy what is the point of starting a blog? Do I even have time?
Well the why is simple: I have a lot to say, and a lot to share with the world (even if only a couple people see this). And do I have time? Well, I think this will be a good place for me to share my thoughts, as random as they may be, so yeah, I hope to have time, even if it is a teeny bit selfish and for my own sanity.
Here is what has run through my head the past couple of days:
- "Holy s*** Holy s***, why do I want to be in nursing school?"
-I think I want to move to Nashville and be a singer/songwriter
-oh wait I sound like a dying horse when I sing
-I also can't write music
-damn it I look good today
-why did I spend time on my hair I needed to study
-OMG school will make me sick
-almost spring break Marybeth, you are almost there
-hot chocolate is delicious
-my hot chocolate mug that looks like a cow is awesome
-why aren't you studying diseases like you should be
-oh yeah it's cuz you wanted to look good
-Hunger Games
I know, I know. You are thinking to yourself, "what a wild child that Marybeth." But school, work, family, and apparently blogging is all I have time for. Don't judge.
As I continue to blog, keep in mind, for a 20 year old college student on a budget, it is the simple things that matter. Even something as simple as a smile, or holding a door open mean a lot to a girl like myself. Because as I have random crazy thoughts in my head, a simple gesture is greatly appreciated and can make my day.
I should probably get back to studying disease now. But to whoever you are that read this, I hope I didn't make you want to sleep too much. And I will be back soon for more random thoughts. Mwah
